I was posted to Locking after instructing on the ancient CHL gear at Yatesbury from 1954-1955. With only 2 months of National Service left to do it wasn't worth being retrained on more modern equipment so I was placed in the Locking Maintenance Section under a gentlemanly Warrant Officer whose name I forget - but he was a great guy. When I wasn't making up breadboards for the students, I was down in Weston-super- Mare enjoying myself! It was like 8 weeks at Butlins.
